Description: Job DescriptionHybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary location (Mountain View, CA) three times per week, at minimum.Relocation:This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.The Role:We’re seeking a Python Developer with strong experience building python-based scripts for templated C/C++ code generation, csv files and other file types as required, as well as Graphic User Interface (GUI) development and testing of these scripts.These python applications will be platform independent and can be deployed on local computers, servers, or virtual machines. Collaboration with embedded systems using C/C++ will be essential to develop a high-quality, portable and fully-tested features.You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary team that’s building robust, scalable, and secure systems that span full stack in automotive embedded software using state of the art tools and hardware.What You’ll do:Develop Python applications and scripts that will run locally, on a server, or a virtual machine.Generate embedded software in C/C++ for microcontrollers and edge devices (e.g., STM32, ESP32, or similar platforms) using python scripts and templating engines.Generate csv files and other file types via Python scripts by utilizing templates, in coordination with embedded software specialists and system designers.Design, maintain and test python scripts with templating engines (Jinja, Mako, etc) to generate embedded C/C++ code.Design, maintain and test python-based GUIs (based on Tkinter, PyQt or other libraries) to configure and generate embedded software.Contribute to system integration, bring-up, and testing of script-generated code.Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless deployment, OTA updates, monitoring, and diagnostics for the integrated C/C++ code.Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)Bachelor of Science in Engineering to include Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree5-7 years of Python development experience with advanced skills for scripting and automation.Proficiency with at least one major templating engine: Mako, Jinja or Django.Proficiency with python-based GUI development, using Tkinter, PyQt or other GUI libraries.Solid experience with embedded C/C++, including device drivers, RTOS, or bare-metal development.Comfortable working with hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, etc.).Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, Docker, etc.What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills)Basic knowledge of OTA update mechanisms.Basic knowledge of PCB design or hardware bring-up processes.Familiarity with test automation for embedded components.Basic understanding of AUTOSAR (Automotive Open System Architecture) architecture.Exposure to software configuration management processes and tools, such as the git ecosystem.Prior experience working in Agile / Scrum / SAFe methodologies.Why You’ll Love Working Here:Work across the full technology stack— OTA to firmware.Opportunity to shape how our customers interact with our vehicles.A flexible, hybrid-friendly environment.A collaborative team focused on solving meaningful real-world problems with modern tools and technology.Ready to build systems that make our customers love our products?
