Description: In short: As a senior frontend engineer, you will further develop complex network orchestration interfaces in React and Angular, build new functionalities, translate data flows from the backend into clear UIs and think about architecture and user experience.
Assignment description
SURF is looking for a senior frontend engineer to help develop the network orchestration layer. We are looking for someone who is comfortable developing new components in the front end, but can also oversee the necessary information flows from the back end.
A network orchestration architecture has been built to automate all network services offered on the SURF network. The components in this stack include the self-developed open source workflow orchestrator (workfloworchestrator.org, Python + FastAPI), two front-ends on top of this, and a multitude of microservices and adapters to edge systems such as a network inventory database, CRM, IP address management database, streaming telemetry (gNMI) and more.
The Orchestrator frontend (ReactJS) is for the NOC (network operations center) and network engineers to manage and configure the network. An NMS (Network Management Service) must be built here that displays underlying data in a network domain-specific manner. They also want to display streaming telemetry from network devices and develop AIOps. The Network Dashboard (Angular) is the customer portal for network engineers to monitor and manage the network services they purchase. They can also set security settings and manage DNS. In the Network Dashboard they want to overhaul the role system, build an Internet-of-Things module, implement DNS management based on invite groups, display internet security values ​​and renew the landing page.
