We are looking for a (Senior) Data Engineer (gn) who really wants to make a difference. You will take responsibility for our data platform, drive the architecture of scalable and reliable data products and play a central role in taking our data warehouse to the next level. As the heart of our data hub, you connect teams, technologies and insights and provide the technical direction for how we work with data across the company.

Your mission with us

• You design and are responsible for the architecture of our end-to-end data platform - from data integration to transformation to data provision
• You lead the development of robust data pipelines with Fivetran, Airbyte and Python and set technical standards for the team
• You drive excellent data modeling in Databricks and use advanced SQL, dbt and data quality frameworks like elementary
• You define and establish standards for data quality and ensure that reliable data marts serve as the basis for business-critical decisions
• You take technical leadership and work closely with the product owner and the business insights team on complex data challenges
• You are responsible for the further development of our cloud infrastructure on AWS and drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform

Your experience & Skills

• You have several years of practical experience as a data engineer, ideally in a cloud-native environment
• You are proficient in SQL, Python, dbt and Git and have already developed and operated production-ready data pipelines
• You have experience with cloud platforms (ideally AWS) as well as tools such as Databricks, Fivetran or Airbyte
• You have a deep understanding of data modeling, data warehouse architectures and data quality best practices
• You have strong communication skills and manage to build a bridge between engineering and the specialist departments or business stakeholders
