Description: We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to join a technically demanding project involving data-intensive processing, system integration, and semantic technologies. You will play a key role in taking ownership of an existing codebase, stabilising it, and evolving it in line with project requirements. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who is comfortable working with complex systems and understands data-driven architectures . What You'll Do: Analyse, understand, and take ownership of an existing Python-based backend; Refactor and enhance backend components with a focus on maintainability and performance; Implement and maintain data processing pipelines and integration logic; Collaborate closely with data/semantic engineers on RDF/SPARQL-driven workflows; Contribute to architecture reconstruction and technical documentation; Support deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting activities; Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and best practices.
