Description: The Austrian National Bank in 1090 Vienna is looking for an internship in payment system and IT supervision (f/m/x) to strengthen the team from January 2027 for a period of 6 months (extent of employment between 50 and 100%) with a flexible start date

Your tasks

* Participation in cross-sectional analyzes on the topics of IT risk, cyber risk and artificial intelligence:

Creation of concepts, implementation of trend, benchmarking and outlier analyzes

as well as interpretation and documentation of the results (e.g. short newsletters, reports or article articles)

* Data management & quality assurance: merging supervisory data sources (e.g. reported IT incidents and IT outsourcing), carrying out structured data quality checks and cleansing for data preparation (e.g. scripts, Excel files) using Python, SQL or R

* Data visualization: Creation of practical dashboards for supervision (e.g. network representations of dependencies) based on supervisory data

Your profile

This is what you bring with

* Ongoing studies in (business) information technology, data science, statistics/mathematics or economics with a focus on data analysis, regulation or IT risks

* Interest in financial market regulation and banking supervision, especially in topics such as DORA (EU regulation on digital operational resilience), IT and cyber risks

* Analytical thinking, team spirit, accuracy and flexibility; a structured way of working and willingness to learn new tools and methods

* Very good MS Office knowledge; Knowledge of Python, SQL, R and/or data visualization

* Confident use of AI applications; Experience with LLMs and multimodal models (e.g. GPT) is an advantage

* Fluent communication skills in German and good English skills
