The tools developed within this project are designed to help IT service providers automate operations performed for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), including data backup and restore processes, security management, and administrative tasks for Microsoft 365 tenants. The Customer values proactive collaboration and welcomes technical and process improvement ideas from our team. This project offers numerous opportunities to brainstorm, evaluate solutions, and implement best practices to effectively address technical challenges. The Sigma Software team will consist of 9 specialists: 7 Python Developers 1 Product Manager 1 Designer We follow a Kanban-based process and hold daily status meetings with the Customer. Project duration: Long-term — 1 year, with the potential for extension. Technologies: Python, Kubernetes, AWS. Job DescriptionDevelop, maintain, and improve Back-end services and APIs using PythonParticipate in migrating legacy modules to a microservices architectureImplement clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and team guidelinesWork with DevOps engineers to containerize and deploy services on Kubernetes (K8s) within AWSWork with databases and ensure data consistency, reliability, and performance (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and ensure high-quality deliverablesContribute to API design, data modeling, and service communication patterns (REST, messaging, event-driven)Support troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization across microservicesCollaborate with QA, product, and other engineering teams to deliver new features and system improvementsParticipate in sprint planning, estimations, and daily stand-ups in an Agile environmentLearn and apply the best practices for developing reliable and fault-tolerant distributed systemsQualifications3-5 years of professional experience in Python development in production environmentsGood understanding of microservices concepts and hands-on experience with RESTful API developmentPractical experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes (deployment, pods, services, and configs)Experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), schema design, queries, and ORM usage (SQLAlchemy, Django ORM, etc.)Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, or similar cloud services)Understanding of software design principles, clean code, and modular programmingAbility to debug, test, and optimize code for performance and scalabilityExperience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD toolsAdditional InformationPERSONAL PROFILEStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detailWillingness to learnGood communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate in a distributed team
