Waracle are looking for a Lead Python Developer to join us in building market-leading digital products for our global customer base.
Waracle adopt a remote first ethos (UK based) and provide a set up allowance you can use towards a comfy chair or desk! We have office space available in Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London if you miss that buzz in the office.
You will be involved in producing high quality full-stack code, creating complex web front-ends which simplify procedures for end users. You will be mentoring and working within a multidisciplinary team, working front-to-back from large data sources to visual presentation. You will be passionate about technology improvements and offer early value in suggesting incremental and credible improvements.
Requirements

Expert level skills with Python (2.7+) and the Django framework

Experience in API design and development

Experience of working in an orchestrated environment using gateways to services

Experience both in cloud and on-premise development, with multiple operating systems and software versions in service
Desirable skills:
-
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate technical designs to both internal and external stakeholders.

Strong skills with Solution Design, with the ability to advise on improvements for wider Technical Architecture.

Experience leading a, full-stack Agile development team
-
Background working with Data specific libraries such as Pandas, PyMongo, NumPy, Seaborn or similar.

Exposure to modern cloud platforms - Azure, AWS or GCP.

Ability to work in low-level code and command line operations
The recruitment process you can expect for this role is an initial call with your dedicated Talent Acquisition Partner who will chat with you about Waracle, what you are looking for in a new position, the salary for the role, notice period and benefits (the important stuff!).
After that, will follow an introductory interview with the Hiring Manager to discover more about the role and life at Waracle. A take-home Python assessment will follow, where you have the opportunity to showcase your technical craft. The final interview will involve the project Delivery Lead and a Lead Developer.
