We are developing a smarter and cleaner energy system, with which we make sure that our customers can produce, use and save energy while respecting the environment. We systematically reduce our emissions and our goal is to break away from combustion-based energy production by 2040. We are now looking for a Data Engineer to develop data solutions and data architecture for flexible district heating as part of Helen's Heat demand flexibility solutions team. The position is a temporary replacement for parental leave, and the duration of the employment relationship is approximately 8 months. The desired start date of the employment relationship is October-November 2026 at the latest. Our heat demand flexibility solutions team is responsible for the continuous digital development of the Optilimämpö product and ensures the flexibility of the district heating network as part of Helen's overall optimization. The team maintains the product's digital solutions and develops new digital capabilities, connection solutions needed for remote management of heat distribution centers and its own flexibility control algorithm. In your role You are responsible for the development of a flexible data architecture and infrastructure for district heating. You build data products on the Databricks data platform and are responsible for processing the data into documented datasets. You are responsible for the construction, maintenance and development of data integrations in accordance with Helen's common data platform practices. of data platforms, primarily Databricks. Strong SQL skills and experience using Python and Spark. Experience in data modeling, transformation and handling large amounts of data. Good understanding of software development practices such as version control (Git), CI/CD, test automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Understanding of building scalable data and IoT solutions. Good collaboration and communication skills, openness and courage. The important thing is the desire to learn new things, you don't need to know everything in advance. Good oral and written skills in Finnish and English.
