Description:

Would you like to help build the foundation for future public broadcasters? When NRK in a few years' time packs up at Marienlyst and moves into a new head office at Ensjø, it will not just be a physical move. We also dismantle outdated systems and redefine how the country's best storytellers create and distribute content. 

As a network developer with us, you will play a central role in this transformation. You will help shape and modernize the infrastructure that enables journalists, photographers and editors to work faster and smarter, with content for the entire population of Norway. 

We are moving from broadcast-specific niche technology to modern IP solutions, cloud technology and virtualized infrastructure, and will strengthen the team with four network developers who will build and develop a new infrastructure together with us to ensure NRK's ​​deliveries. 

We are looking for you who are curious about setting new standards and have an interest in automation and infrastructure as code. 

What will you work on?

The team's tasks are divided into three areas:

• WAN, routing, internet, leased lines
• Media network, corporate network, local network, wifi, oob
• Network security, firewall, load balancer and vpn
  

You don't have to know all three areas, but it's nice if you have expertise in one of them. The ambitions are the same. We want to deliver on demand, have good built-in security, use IaC and more standardization, and engage in proactive operation and development. Through this, we can help support NRK's goals as a world-class broadcaster.

Some of your tasks will be:

• User-oriented design, configuration and implementation of secure network solutions for future needs
  
• Responsibility for operation, troubleshooting, problem solving and performance optimization of network components
  
• Follow-up of deliveries from start to completion
  
• Participate in projects across the organization with a focus on network infrastructure
  
• Contribute to larger NRK productions with specific network needs and testing of new technology
  
• Establish and maintain professional collaborations with suppliers to ensure quality and delivery in line with agreed standards
• Contribute to modernize NRK's network infrastructure through automation and programming.
• Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of secure network solutions  
  
  Technologies and products we work with today are Arista, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, F5, Ansible, Netbox, Python, Powershell, Jira, Opengear, Git, Semaphore, 
  Cloud technology and container-based technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
  
  Those we are looking for have expertise and familiarity with several of these technologies, in addition to a desire to learn more.
  

Your background 

We believe that to thrive and be happy in this position, you have:

• Relevant education in information technology, networks or similar, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with operation and management of network infrastructure
• Experience with automation, coding and IaC
• Knowledge of current frameworks and tools
• Good Norwegian and English skills, both written and spoken
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or similar are desirable
