Job Title: Software Development Engineer [Multiple Openings: Level 4]

Job Summary:

As a software engineer at The Pokemon Company International (TPCi), you will be responsible for designing and developing web applications and backend services to support marketing, authentication, or competitive Pokémon play. Your expertise will create modern user experiences that let fans seek the information they need to participate in competitive and casual events, sign in to our/our partners’ systems or learn more about upcoming Pokémon news and updates.
 
What you’ll bring
  • 8+ years of related professional experience.
  • A bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with the full software development life cycle (design, implementation, deployment, maintenance).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with testing and debugging software in one or more languages.
  • Experience leading design and implementation of new applications.
  • The ability to identify and learn new technology to solve problems.
  • A security-first mindset.
  • Strong knowledge in one or more programming languages and the ability to learn new ones.
  • Experience in some or all of the following technologies preferred: AWS, React, Typescript, Python (Django), Postgres
What you’ll do
  • Design and architect system components that meet performance, scale, security, and compliance standards.
  • Mentor other members of the team to further your technical understanding of the system.
  • Define and evangelize technical standards to deliver high quality and maintainable software solutions.
  • Use training and certification resources to learn and develop skills.
  • Write software to integrate with current and upcoming Pokémon products.
  • Learn the latest cloud technology and apply it to efficiently so

  • Base salary range: Level 4: $146,000 - $218,000. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. It is common for TPCi to start employees below the midpoint of the range. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates’ qualifications and experience uniquely.
