Description: At a developer of sensor and robot technology in Groningen you work on software for the international glass packaging industry. You help improve the production process of glass bottles and jars, with the aim of lighter, stronger products and a lower CO₂ footprint. The systems combine robotics, PLCs and sensors with high-level software. Your focus is on developing and maintaining that software, where modern C++ and Rust are important programming skills. In daily practice you program and test software modules and check the cooperation with real hardware on the work floor. You will also encounter Python, JavaScript and robot-specific code. You work within an engineering team on new functionality and coordinate integrations with field service engineers and data scientists. By connecting software development with practical testing, you deepen your knowledge of robotics, industrial automation and the interaction between software and machine behavior.
Job content
- Develop and maintain software for robotic glass production systems
- Program and test new functionality in C++, Python and JavaScript
- Develop and test robot-specific code in connection with the control
- Perform integration tests with sensors, robots and other hardware on the shop floor
- Integrate software modules together with field service engineers and data scientists
- Follow and apply technological developments in software engineering and robotics
Job requirements
- An HBO or WO diploma in computer science, robotics, industrial automation or mechatronics
- Good programming skills in modern C++ and Rust
- Strong analytical skills and a practical approach to technical problems
- Knowledge of Python and JavaScript is an advantage
- Experience with version control via GitLab and PLC programming is an advantage advantage
- Willingness to travel to foreign customers several times a year is an advantage
