Description:

NOTE ON LOCATION: Position is Remote, Hybrid, or Office-Based (Carlsbad, CA or Washington, DC)

Hydrosat is a venture-backed space data analytics company leveraging thermal infrared and multi-spectral data to deliver insights into crop health, drought and wildfire risk, industrial activity, and defense situational awareness to government and commercial customers.

We are seeking an experienced full-stack developer to support the development and deployment of quality-analysis tools, pipeline monitoring tools, and data trending in support of our new satellite constellation. This role will appeal to candidates looking to apply their software development skills across the full lifecycle of design, development, and deployment. This role will appeal to motivated candidates looking to leverage their skills in both the space and geospatial domains.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and implement a QA dashboard supporting the quality assessment of our data processing pipeline, helping ensure our new satellite constellation is producing quality data.
  • Develop trending and analysis tools for our satellite and payload telemetry feeds.
  • Contribute to the improvement of Hydrosat’s FusionHub, our data fusion application for advanced image processing.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience designing applications leveraging AWS or comparable cloud-based services
  • Experience with frontend application stacks, such as Angular, Vue, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Experience with backend application stacks, such as NodeJS, DJango, AWS Lambda
  • Strong first principles thinking and decision making
  • Strong team player with demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive execution

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with production software engineering
  • Experience in space-based Earth Observation, geospatial data
  • UI/UX design experience
  • Familiarity with STAC apis
