Description: For a long-term project with our customer in Bern (with a remote component), we are looking for a senior software engineer (m/f/d) - Python / FastAPI / Kafka.

Your tasks
•Technical management of an agile development team without disciplinary responsibility
•Development of modern backend solutions with Python
•Conception, design and implementation of cloud-native microservice architectures
•Sharing and further developing the target architecture
•Conducting code reviews and ensuring high quality standards
•Coaching and mentoring the developers in the team
•Defining and establishing best practices regarding architecture, clean code, testing and software quality
•Developing high-performance REST APIs with FastAPI
•Developing event-driven applications with FastStream and Apache Kafka
•Design and implementation of API management concepts
•Deployment and operation of containerized applications on OpenShift and Kubernetes
•Support in setting up and further developing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes
•Close collaboration with system architects and adjacent development teams

Must-requirements
•At least 8 years of professional experience in professional software development
•Several years of experience as a senior developer, technical lead or lead engineer
•Excellent knowledge of Python and modern Python frameworks, especially FastAPI
•Experience with FastStream and event-driven architectures
•Very good knowledge of the development and operation of microservices
•In-depth experience with Apache Kafka
•Several years of experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift
•Very good knowledge of the API Management as well as in the design and development of REST APIs
•Experience in creating and evaluating software architectures
•Demonstrable experience with code reviews and the establishment of development standards
•Experience with clean architecture, clean code, domain-driven design (DDD) and test automation
•Very good knowledge of using Git and modern CI/CD processes
•Experience with agile development methods such as Scrum and Kanban
•Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking and a high level of quality awareness
•Very good knowledge of German and good English
•Technical leadership skills and role model function
•High level of initiative and sense of responsibility
•Ability to communicate architectural decisions in an understandable manner and establish them in a team
•Enjoy passing on knowledge and developing developers professionally
•Structured, solution-oriented and pragmatic Method of working

Can-do requirements
•Experience in the telecommunications environment, especially with OSS/BSS, network management, provisioning or service orchestration
•Knowledge of the TM Forum Open APIs, the Open Digital Architecture (ODA) or comparable industry standards
•Experience with cloud-native architectures and DevSecOps
•Knowledge in the area of observability, for example with Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry
•Experience with Infrastructure as Code, for example with Terraform or Ansible
