Description:
Spotify is looking for a backend engineer to join the Voices team at Findaway! You will work with our team to improve and evolve the Voices platform and infrastructure to provide the best experience for independent authors and narrators. You will ensure that Voices is modern, stable, fast, and extensible to set us up for the future. Your attention to detail and process will make the entire audiobook journey from production to distribution and reporting smooth and accurate.
What you'll do
- Be a technical leader of the Voices Python backend systems by maintaining and advancing them.
- Deploy well-tested, maintainable and scalable software solutions.
- Collaborate with other engineers to architect and realize the best version of Voices.
- Mentor newer engineers, promote and participate in continuous learning to elevate the entire team.
- Ensure that we have insights into the health of our systems and deployments, freeing us to iterate quickly with confidence.
- Embrace and improve our standards and processes to reduce friction and unlock efficiency.
Who you are
- You're proficient in Python and Django Rest Framework, with a strong foundation in SQL.
- You have a passion for writing code as well as understanding and crafting the ways systems interact.
- You have experience deploying to and implementing solutions in AWS.
- You believe in the benefits of agile processes and shipping done code often.
- You are pragmatic and work to coalesce requirements into reasonable solutions that provide value.
- You believe in iteration and know that finding the right solution is more important than the first.
