Description: Vequity is building the world’s most robust, contextualized buyer intelligence network for investment banks, private equity firms, and strategic acquirers.
Vequity is building the world’s most robust, contextualized buyer intelligence network for investment banks, private equity firms, and strategic acquirers. Our platform currently houses over 1.5 million buyer profiles with approximately 100 structured and inferred data fields per profile. We leverage proprietary AI agents to continuously enrich, infer, and structure buyer intelligence at scale. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will own the architecture, quality, and scalability of our data ecosystem—from ingestion and cleaning to inference and output generation. You will partner with AI, product, and engineering teams to deliver data APIs and feeds that power our platform's decision-support capabilities. Your work will directly impact data reliability, operational efficiency, and the precision of buyer attributes used across our customers.
Vequity builds an M&A deal-sourcing platform. We aggregate + resolve data on millions of companies so acquirers can find targets that never make it to a broker. The backend is .NET 10 / EF Core / PostgreSQL, the frontend is Angular, and Python powers our data and LLM-automation pipelines. Temporal is used long-running workflows. LLM-driven agents used for entity resolution, enrichment, etc among other tasks.
Why Vequity?
Ownership here is reality. The team is small enough that every engineer owns a domain outright. Your backlog is yours, your roadmap input goes straight to the founders, and nobody sits between you and the decision. The flip side is accountability: what ships in your area is yours too.
You'll work at the frontier of LLM engineering, not on the sidelines of it. Our agents do entity resolution, enrichment, and research automation in production, and we evaluate and iterate on them like any other system — with harnesses, gold datasets, and bake-offs across models.
The Role: Own Your Area End-to-EndYou will own features end-to-end across the full stack: Angular UI, .NET APIs and data models, and Python automation where your area touches our LLM pipelines.
One thing is non-negotiable. You must own the business requirements for your area and proactively maintain its product backlog. We will give you acceptance criteria, but you are expected to know your domain well enough to spot the gaps, propose the next features, and keep your backlog groomed without being asked. If you want fully-specified tickets handed to you, this role is not a fit.
A routine week: you ship a feature across Angular, .NET, and Python; you write or sharpen the acceptance criteria for the next one; you prune and reprioritize your backlog based on what shipping just taught you; you flag the requirement that no longer makes sense before anyone builds against it.
Success is measured on two axes: features shipped working in production, and the health of your backlog — whether the next most valuable thing in your area is already defined when it's time to build it.
