5+ years as a DBA or Database Engineer, with strong SQL Server production experience.
Hands-on experience building LLM or agent-based automation, beyond using ChatGPT (e.g. agents with custom tools, RAG or MCP integrations).
Cloud databases on AWS and/or Azure.
Strong Python/scripting skills.
Solid performance troubleshooting on live systems: you check blocking and active sessions first, then execution plans, then what changed.
C1 English.

Niuro is hiring for one open position with a single client: an international company that provides regulatory compliance software and data to global chemical and manufacturing organizations. The company has a concrete, company-wide AI roadmap.

You'll join the client's Database Engineering team, which is moving from traditional DBA work to an agentic model. By 2027, every engineer on the team will design and run their own autonomous agents that handle routine database operations end-to-end.

Funciones del cargo

Operate and optimize SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle and Azure SQL environments on AWS and Azure: performance troubleshooting, backups, HA/DR, Always On and replication.
Run daily database work through AI tools and MCP connections from the command line, replacing manual processes.
Design, build and deploy autonomous Python agents that automate DBA workflows end-to-end, with built-in safety controls and human oversight.
Respond to incidents and support migrations.

Condiciones

Fully remote, with flexibility to work from anywhere in South America, Central America or Mexico.
Full-time, long-term contract through Niuro.
