Senior Data Scientist
Role purpose: Lead the design, development, and deployment of data science solutions that drive measurable business outcomes through advanced analytics, machine learning, and experimentation. Core Responsibilities - Develop and deploy predictive and prescriptive models (e.g., classification, regression, forecasting, recommendation). - Translate business problems into analytical frameworks, success metrics, and scalable model approaches. - Design and analyze A/B tests and causal inference studies; communicate results and impact. - Build robust data pipelines and feature engineering workflows in partnership with data engineering. - Perform data exploration, statistical analysis, and model validation; ensure reproducibility and quality. - Create clear narratives and visualizations to inform product, operations, and leadership decisions. - Mentor junior scientists and contribute to best practices, documentation, and model governance. Required Skills - Machine learning: supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation, bias/variance, interpretability. - Statistics: hypothesis testing, experimental design, causal methods, time series fundamentals. - Programming: Python or R; production-grade coding practices and version control. - Data: SQL, data modeling concepts, working with large datasets and distributed systems. - Tools: common ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch/TensorFlow) and visualization. - Communication: stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and executive-ready reporting.
