As a (Senior) AI Engineer (m/f/d) you will develop AI-supported automation solutions that run productively in our customers' business processes and give them a measurable competitive advantage - from intelligent document processing to agentic systems that independently take over process steps. Your technological basis is the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) / Business AI Platform in combination with other cloud and AI platforms from our customers. You don't need to know the SAP target system (S/4HANA or ECC) in detail - we'll build up the necessary depth together with you. You design and develop AI solutions that specifically automate manual work in business processes, and integrate them via SAP and non-SAP APIs into the existing system landscape. You develop with Python (e.g. FastAPI, LangGraph) and Node.js/TypeScript (including SAP CAP) and move confidently in the respective customer landscape, whether SAP BTP, hyperscaler or specialized AI platforms, the framework conditions of which you take into account and help shape in the architecture. You are responsible for your solutions from requirements recording to go-live, including evaluation, monitoring and further development in operation. You lead customer workshops, present results and convincingly represent your architectural decisions to ours Customers. You will actively participate in our business AI team and help shape our methods, frameworks and internal products. Very good Python knowledge, especially in the area of LLM connection and orchestration, as well as experience with Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript) and a good understanding of distributed applications. Practical experience with generative AI from projects, research or your own projects. You are familiar with topics such as tool calling, context management, structured output and evaluation from the application, and you understand how agentic solutions can be built from them. The ability to move confidently in a dynamic technology field: You independently develop viable solution approaches where established patterns are missing, critically evaluate new tools and share your findings in the team. A technical degree or a comparable qualification with demonstrable practical experience. Openness to SAP technologies and the willingness to familiarize yourself with BTP and ERP integration scenarios. A feel for the requirements of regulated industries, such as data protection and data sovereignty, which you will naturally incorporate into your solutions Professional demeanor, strong communication skills in German and English as well as enjoyment of taking on responsibility in projects and workshops. Hands-on experience with the productive operation of agentic or Multi-agent systems.
