Digitally transforming the University of Chile The Vice Rectory of Information Technology (VTI) of the University of Chile, is an agent of change and digital transformation that contributes to the mission of the University, through the development and innovative application of Information and Communications Technologies.For this, it manages and develops technological initiatives that seek solutions to current and future problems of the University and the country.Insert in this vice -rectory, there is the Office of Online Education (EOL).

We are looking for computer engineering professionals, computer science, related systems or careers with at least 3 years of experience in similar positions, such as Systems Engineer (Sysadmin) or Devops, to second or advanced support.|Medium

  • Ability to program and develop scripts.|Medium
  • Experience in development and use of open source software.|Basic
  • Knowledge in operating systems (Linux) |Medium
  • Domain of containing technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes |Basic
  • Ability to implement and maintain integration and continuous delivery pipelines (CI/CD).|Basic
  • Technical English, read and spoken.|Basic

Functions of the position

 

  • Execution Multiple Platform Backup and Restoration Procedures.
  • Implementation of distributed architectures according to market standards.
  • Analyze and permanently evaluate the use of technological resources in terms of distribution, growth, support, periodicity, performance and priorities.
  • Update, migration and publication of changes of Open Source platforms.
  • Ability to work on on-premise systems ensuring operational continuity, compliance with slas and execution of recovery plans in case of disasters.
  • Implement Devop Practices and technologies with the aim of expediting development processes.Including processes and scripts, as necessary.
  • Support in the deployment of developments on the platform.
  • Continuous integration and distribution pipelines (CI/CD) for automation of processes of the various platforms.
  • Diagnosis and documentation of software errors for its fixing process or re factoring .
  • MAINTENANCE OF SOLUTIONS FOR PLATFORMS THAT SUPPORTS THE OFFICE OF ONLINE EDUCATION.
  • Documentation and maintenance of the office git as developments for Open Edx.
