You ensure that AI does not remain just a financial pilot, but helps in real work.

A smart AI demo makes an impression. But only when analysts and employees work with it every day does technology become valuable. Especially in finance, where reliability, auditability and regulations are never an afterthought.

As a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer you are there from the first conversation. Within weeks you reduce "we want something with AI" to a use case that you can test, or you honestly say that it is not (yet) possible. Then you design and build the solution and bring it live in cycles of days. And then you make yourself redundant.

What are you going to do?

You bridge the gap between business and technology: you sits at the customer's table, designs the solution and often implements it himself.

• Understanding use cases: together with business development, you conduct discovery conversations, test use cases against real data and systems and build a solution in days proof-of-value.

• Design and implementation: You design the agentic architecture, choose the pattern that fits per situation and bring the solution to production in short cycles, together with our AI Engineers.

• Transfer and measure: The customer can run the solution themselves, and after go-live you measure whether it is actually used. That is your benchmark.

• Making us smarter: You make what you learn reusable for the next customer, and you help new FDEs get started.
  
  

About 10% of your time goes to pre-sales and 90% to delivery; business development is the commercial owner.

From KYC to complex financial processes

You know the reality behind KYC/AML, customer acceptance, complaint and claims handling, financial reporting, risk and compliance. Consider:

• KYC files that agents prepare with traceable sources, so that analysts make informed decisions faster.

• Documents and signals that come together for a complaints or claims team.

• Reports that are now manual work, automated within the framework of DORA and the EU AI Act.

What do you bring?

• Demonstrated experience in finance: you know the processes, data, systems and risks from the inside out.

• You have designed, deployed and maintained AI solutions with LLMs and agents, including evals, guardrails, monitoring and security.

• Strong in Python and SQL, and hands-on with at least one cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP) and a data platform such as Databricks, Snowflake or Fabric.

• You work with coding agents every day and critically assess what they deliver.

• Experience in a customer-facing role, such as consultancy, pre-sales, solutions engineering or your own startup.

• You speak and write Dutch and English fluently.

A bonus: experience with DORA, model risk management or audit trails, and with classic ML such as fraud and risk models.

What this is not

• No individual secondment. You work on projects on behalf of adesso, with a team behind it you.

• Not a PoC graveyard. We build to use.

• No slides without code. Your advice comes with a working version.

• No agent because it is possible. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best, and you say so.

The team

You will become part of our AI Engineering team: AI engineering consultants in two roles. The Forward Deployed AI Engineer (FDE) owns the customer problem and designs the solution, including the agentic architecture. The AI Engineer goes into depth about construction, data, MLOps and scale, and thinks about the right approach based on the customer's request.

You are given the space to shape your own work, but you are never solely responsible for all specialisms.

• €5,850–€7,150 gross per month based on 40 hours;
