Description: Joining Mines Saint-Étienne means becoming involved in an institution where science and innovation build a more sustainable future. A school of excellence where everyonehasthe opportunity to reveal their full potentialand tocontribute to meeting the challenges of tomorrow. Ranked among the best engineering schools in France and recognized worldwide, our school, a member of the Institut Mines-Télécom, trains the talents of tomorrow while actively contributing to meeting the major challenges industrial, digital and environmental. With us, you join a community of 500 employees, 2,500 students, and participate in an ambitious project: combining academic excellence, cutting-edge research and positive societal impact. The Institut Mines-Télécom brings together major French schools around major industrial, digital, energy and ecological challenges. With its 8 public Grandes Écoles and 2 subsidiary schools, it is the first public institute dedicated to engineers and managers. Together, we imagine and build a sustainable future, by training the actors who will shape the transitions of tomorrow. Digital, ecological, industrial transitions: the great challenges of our time are also those of the Henri Fayol Institute. Computer science, data sciences, management, human and social sciences, environmental engineering come together to think about the complex systems of tomorrow: territories, companies, industrial sectors. 📊 Resilience, performance, sustainability... We develop and experiment in close collaboration with socio-economic stakeholders to meet the demands of current transitions. ✨ Interdisciplinary research with high impact, where people are always at the center. This doctoral thesis will be attached to the Environmental Engineering for Organizations (GEO) department, member of the CNRS UMR 5600 Environnement Ville Laboratory and Society (EVS). To respond to the challenges of ecological, energy and industrial transitions, the GEO department supports territorial stakeholders (public and private stakeholders) towards better consideration of environmental issues and territorial resilience. It thus strives to provide new solutions in terms of analysis, modeling and environmental assessment of industrial and territorial systems in a dual context of industry of the future and sustainable cities and territories. 1.7em;"> Presentation of the subject Climate change highlights, as the COVID crisis did before, the vulnerabilities and links of generalized dependence of our lifestyles on infrastructures, value chains, and modes of economic and technical organization, elements often disconnected from the end user, their needs and the conditions of occupancy. For the building sector, Cimerman (2023) evokes a trend for several decades of “Cartesian simplification” of the design and operation of buildings. This is reflected in particular by the development of an imaginary “machine-building”, resulting in a superposition of complex technical elements (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), capable of being controlled through IT tools and optimized centralized management (Cimerman, 2023). draw. The first, currently dominant, consists of extending this imaginary “machine-building”, rationalizable, measurable and optimizable, particularly through the development of “smart-building”. This techno-solutionist approach provides turnkey solutions (sensors, centralized management tools, etc.) to building managers and users. However, it presents certain challenges for their maintenance and upkeep. We can cite the massive recourse to new, costly technologies,
