We are looking for a tech enthusiast who wants to play a proactive role:

• Designing, building and optimizing reliable data pipelines (for example with PySpark, Delta Lake and the Medallion Architecture).
• Integrating and structuring data in cloud environments, bridging the gap between raw data and actionable business insights.
• Working with advanced SQL and Python solutions to ensure smooth data flows and perform efficiently.
• Think about and contribute to Infrastructure as Code (such as Terraform) to deploy our data infrastructure smartly.
• Actively share knowledge during lunch & learns and provide collegial feedback through peer reviews or code reviews.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the data architecture and engineering methodologies within Lemon.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Python & SQL: You are strong in Python (for data pipelines) and have advanced knowledge of SQL (think of window functions, CTEs and performance tuning).
• Databricks & Spark or Snowflake: You have practical experience with a modern data platform. This can be Databricks (PySpark, cluster management, job optimization) or a data warehousing platform such as Snowflake (architecture, data sharing) or Azure Synapse. Knowledge of Kimball is a plus!
• Cloud Platforms (Azure or AWS): You feel comfortable in the cloud. You have practical experience with Azure (e.g. Data Factory, Blob Storage, Key Vault) and/or AWS (e.g. S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM). Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is also great.
• Infrastructure as Code: You have at least a basic or intermediate knowledge of tools such as Terraform for deploying infrastructure.
• Communication: You can express yourself fluently in both Dutch and English for smooth business communication.

Nice-to-have (Pros - certainly no hard requirements!)

• Experience with Streaming (Apache Kafka, Event Hubs, Spark Structured Streaming) for real-time data.
• Knowledge of Orchestration & CI/CD (Airflow, Azure Data Factory pipelines, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or GitLab CI).
• Feeling with Data Governance (Unity Catalog or Snowflake governance features) or Frontend tools (such as PowerBI).
• Certifications are an absolute icing on the cake, such as:
  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics
  • Snowflake SnowPro Core/Advanced

Recommended background

• Typically several years (4 - 6 years) of relevant experience as a Data or BI Engineer, preferably at Medior or Senior level. An academic background (Bachelor/Master) in an IT or quantitative direction is nice, but your demonstrable skills and tech-driven mindset are the most important for us!
