Description:
Within the nuclear engineering center in charge of the conventional island of power plants, the FGP group carries out design, sizing and impact studies on the energy performance of the so-called “secondary” water-steam thermodynamic cycle. For this purpose, tools are used in this group which notably manipulate digital data (operating points from on-site measurements or tests) or alphanumeric data (maintenance action reports, for example). Each plant operated by EDF is an instrumented process for which a significant amount of data is available. Software is developed within the group to use this data. Objectives of the internship This internship aims to evaluate different options for porting existing applications, currently in R Shiny or Python Streamlit, in a new environment consisting of a Container as a Service (CaaS, managed by the SID IT department) platform which can only accommodate applications in Python only. The intern will be required to take into account the needs of business users (FGP-General Operation Performance group) to propose solutions for hosting, support, maintenance roadmap software. Inventory section The trainee will be responsible for carrying out an inventory of business needs (FGP) and classifying the applications used (with or without data storage, with or without access to databases, flow openings, authentication issues, etc.). Solutions study component In line with the IT service development and deployment framework (SID), the intern will participate in ongoing discussions on the portability of the applications identified. At this stage, the main application no avenue is ruled out, including the rewriting (recoding) in python of applications initially developed in R. The advantages/disadvantages of the different solutions will be carefully identified and argued. Deployment section The intern will implement the identified solutions, proposing recipes with the business (FGP) and in compliance with the deployment rules defined by the IT department (SID). This internship represents a valuable opportunity to work on an innovative project combining development IT, detailed understanding of business needs, but also the modernization of methods to support the fleet in operation. The knowledge and skills acquired during this internship will enrich the candidate's professional career. From a practical point of view, work on site.- Last year of engineering or university school M1 or M2- “IT” profile- Knowledge of the Python language- Knowledge of coding in R is a plus, to understand existing applications more easily.- Knowledge of GIT mandatory (Gitlab recommended)- Are a plus: o SOLI principlesDo development of unit and functional testso Notion of Kubernetes
