AI Engineer (m/f/d)

From now on and full-time, preferably in Berlin, Bonn, Frankfurt a.M. or Munich, alternatively nationwide at one of our BWI locations

As the Bundeswehr's primary digitalization partner, we provide stable, secure and efficient IT services at home and abroad, from basic operations to operational areas, thereby contributing to the continuous increase in leadership and operational capability of the Bundeswehr. With over 8,000 colleagues, we operate and modernize one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. We are looking for responsible IT specialists who are committed to further developing Bundeswehr IT in challenging digitalization projects and thus make a contribution to Germany's security.

The Software Data Analytics department implements data-centered projects for customers and in-house operations. From testing the latest scientific findings from the research fields of AI and data science to implementing crisis-relevant enterprise solutions for several thousand users, we cover the entire spectrum of modern data-driven systems. Our focus is on the topics of data science, AI & machine learning, their architectures and the associated full-stack software development. We focus on scenarios in the military context and public administration.

Your profile:

Python & AI focus: Several years of experience in Python, PyTorch as well as in the deployment of generative AI, computer vision and ML lifecycles

Backend expertise: In-depth knowledge of API design with FastAPI as well as experience in at least one other language (e.g. Go, Java or C#)

Software architecture: Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, clean code and automated testing procedures

DevOps & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with containerization, server administration and pipeline automation

Language skills: Fluent German language skills as well as good written and spoken English skills

Your tasks:

Development of generative AI: implementation of AI solutions, control of the ML lifecycle and prompt engineering based on Python

Model deployment & computer vision: deployment and optimization of language models as well as integration of vision architectures

High-performance APIs: conception and development of robust, scalable backend interfaces for model connection

Infrastructure & Automation: Setting up automated CI/CD pipelines and managing container environments

Agile working: Structured implementation of development tasks in a team according to agile process models

We offer:

- The remuneration is between €57,800 and €84,680. The actual amount is determined based on your area of responsibility as well as experience and skills
